چکیده
A 35-year-old man complained of dull pain after food intake. His medical history and findings from physical examinations and laboratory tests were unremarkable. Standard esophagogastroduodenoscopy revealed a huge mass in the cervical esophagus. On endoscopy, the sausage-like pedunculated tumor protruded into the lumen (▶Fig. 1). Chest computed tomography (CT) scan showed a large mass that was well-circumscribed, intraluminal, and heterogeneous (fatty density in the upper section and parenchymal density in the lower part) (▶Fig. 2). The mass was located between the T1 to T8 levels and connected to the posterior wall of the esophagus. Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) was performed successfully to treat this patient (▶Fig. 3, ▶Video1). The submucosal injection and initial mucosal incision (▶Fig. 3b) were done at the base of the mass, 18 cm from the incisors, using a Hybrid Knife (I-type; Erbe, Tübingen, E-Videos

The patient was referred to our hospital for endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) with the working diagnosis...
متن کاملSuccessful resection of giant esophageal liposarcoma by endoscopic submucosal dissection combined with surgical retrieval: a case report and literature review
Liposarcoma of the esophagus is very rare. We experienced a huge (27.5 × 11.6 cm) liposarcoma of the esophagus. A 73-year-old man presented with severe dyspnea requiring emergency tracheal intubation. Computed tomography and esophagogastroduodenoscopy showed a large submucosal tumor arising from the esophageal entrance and extending intraluminally to the lower esophagus. We successfully perform...
متن کاملAtypical Lipomatous Tumor/Well-Differentiated Liposarcoma Developed in a Patient with Progressive Muscular Dystrophy: A Case Report and Review of the Literature
BACKGROUND Atypical lipomatous tumor/well-differentiated liposarcoma (ALT/WDLS) is an intermediate or locally aggressive form of adipocytic soft tissue sarcoma. Muscular dystrophy (MD) is characterized by progressive muscle atrophy and its replacement by adipose and fibrous tissue. Recently, some authors have reported that MD genes are related to neoplastic formation, but there have been no det...

In a 60−year−old man, endoscopic ultraso− nography (EUS) revealed a pedunculated tumor (4 4 20 cm in size) originating at the oral orifice of the esophagus and hang− ing down to the cardia along the wall of the esophagus (there were no enlarged locore− gional lymph nodes) (Figure 1, 2). The pa− tient declined surgery. A loop was placed from the tip to the base of the peduncula− ted tumor ne...
متن کاملHuge Liposarcoma of Esophagus Resected by Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection: Case Report with Video
Liposarcoma is one of the most common soft tissue sarcomas occurring in adults, but it rarely occurs in the gastrointestinal tract and more uncommonly in the esophagus. To the best of our knowledge, there are only 19 reported cases of esophageal liposarcoma in the literature published in English language up to the year 2008, and they were all treated by surgical methods. Here, we report a case ...
